Dronemaker DJI stops manufacturing a wide range of Enterprise series product lines, including the Matrice 200 series V2, Matrice 600 Pro, Zenmuse Z30, Zenmuse XT2 and Mavic 2 Enterprise (Dual). The company reports this in a recently published Product Lifecycle Announcement. For a number of product lines, including the Zenmuse XT and first generation Matrice 200-series drones, any form of support even stops at the end of this year.

Life Cycle

Dronemaker DJI has released new Enterprise drones and associated peripherals at a rapid pace in recent years. Unfortunately, this has the result that many products of the previous generation will soon no longer be produced and thus are approaching the end of their life cycle. In many cases, it is unclear how long DJI will provide service for the relevant product lines in the form of repairs and software updates.

Drone operators who use one or more Enterprise series products are therefore wise to check the current status of the equipment in question in the table below. The following abbreviations are used:

End-of-Production (EOA): no longer in production
End-of-Availability (EOA): no longer sold by DJI (possibly still by resellers)
End-of-Development (EOD): no more software updates from DJI (only in the case of major safety issues)

Phasing out

Especially in the case of EOS, one may wonder whether it is still wise to continue to use the equipment in question, for the sake of safety and continuity of the operation. In the case of EOA and EOD, it is advisable to phase out the relevant equipment slowly and no longer invest in these systems.
